A few DVD questions and Opinions needed...
Okay, here goes:
I am an avid collector of TV series on DVD (as most here know), and recently I got All the seasons of Enterprise, because of a similar question I asked over at Ric's site.
so here's my latest question, :
I was doing my usual weekly Tuesday shopping (obsession) for new DVD's , and I came across a "WHOLE SERIES" set for Buffy The Vampire Slayer... for $199.00
so my question to you all is,
A: I have seen sporadic episodes over the years, but i never really became a "Buffy" fan (as i found that unless you tuned in every week , that the stories where at times hard to follow **due to events happening in the series...
now almost everyone I know, says that the series is Good, but none can Honestly say if its worth putting our $199.00 for the entire series,
so basically IS IT??
and my second question is more or less a personal dilemma:
for Movies like "Jason VS Freddy, and Alien VS Predator, where do I put them on my shelf?
because with J vs F , it's not really a "Friday, or Nightmare film, so where on my shelf do I put it, ? beside the Friday/Jason movies? or beside the Nightmare/Freddy pictures
and with A VS P, after watching the Unrated edition I got for
X-mas, it seems more like a PREDATOR film, than an ALIEN film...
so any opinions on the above questions would be great, as I have debated, but i feel like i just need that friendly shove, one way or the other, and what better place than here??
its like when i had the Enterprise question, the only logical place to go to get it answered was Ric's
so ???

I would consider it worth the outlay for the buffy set. I have the complete series on dvd even though I watched it all on TV. I am making my way through the series again. You could do worse with your money.
In regards to Freddy vs Jason, it would depend on how the rest of the collection is organized. If you seperating into genre then I would put Friday 13th next to the nightmare series with Freddy vs Jason between them becoming a link between them.

Well, if you're not spending $10 on the trashcan, I'll second sharkkellion's advice, and put them in between the series. Then people can decide if it's the start of one or the end of the other. Not like many people will notice. Or care, for that matter

not sure about Buffy - but as for the F vs J and A vs P - gotta agree with everyone else - treat'em like a newbie on a porn set and throw right in the middle

I think 200$ is too much, but if you love DVD's and if you have the money to spend, I say go for it.

Sorry, not a Buffy fan so you wouldn't like my answer there. As for the cross-series flicks, I just do everything alpabetically no-matter-what. So, Alien vs. Predator would go right after Alien and it's sequels. Freddy vs. Jason would be nowhere near Nightmare on Elm Street.

Buffy has what 7 seasons? So that's about $30 a season, about the same as Friends. I liked the show, but I know what you mean about too hard to follow. But it was the same problem with Babylon 5. I quit watching them because I fell behind. However, that didn't stop me from buying the discs and finally watching all of it.
I'd say, if you have Netflix, rent a couple of discs and make a decision after watching those discs.
As for the AvP and FvJ. I have everything alphabetical. However, if you want to keep with their sets, I would say AvP with Predator, FvJ with Nightmare.

I agree with the buffy stuff but I liked AVP. It could have been much worse. They took an absurd concept and made it at least entertaining. There is nothing realistic in the whole thing but I liked how they explained the two disconnected aliens on earth.

I have my Nightmare on Elm Street then FvJ then F13. Easiest way to do it. I saw a need collection of covers that used all 4 Alien, 2 Predator, and AvP by Gris.
