Hall Pass
This looks hysterical:
Quote:
The Farrelly Brothers were the epitome of 90’s comedy - big and gross gags, huge comedian stars, and introverted or disabled characters. They ruled that decade and since then have been slowly slipping out of the lime light as the comedy world has shifted to a more alternative flavor with the rise of Judd Apatow and Todd Phillips. But, they look to make a comeback next year with their new film The Hall Pass starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis. The film follows two sex obsessed guys whose wives let them off the hook for a week of consequence free anything.
I’m fairly optimistic about this one. Its been a few years since we last saw the Farrelly Brothers (and I’m sure they would like us to forget the last time we saw them was with The Heartbreak Kid, why oh why would you ever put Carlos Mencia in a movie?), so hopefully they’ve learned their lesson. Not to mention the cast in this movie is fantastic (but that doesn’t guarantee anything as far as the quality of the movie will actually be). Jason Sudeikis is one of my top favorite SNL cast members of the current cast and Owen Wilson can be very funny every now and then. Then there’s the support. Stephen Merchant? Genius. JB Smoove? Hilarious. I really hope they let these guys just riff for like an hour of the film. I’d watch that.
The only questionable thing I found about the movie are the wives. You actually think we’re supposed to believe that these guys would be tired of having sex with Christina Applegate and Jenna Fischer? Really? I would be too busy icing my hands from ODing on high fives if that happened to me. Oh, Hollywood. So unrealistic.
