HOW TO: Create Text In A Custom Shape

I have only just figured this out myself, and didn't realise how simple it was. Anyway, if anyone needs to know how to create text, automaticaly justified into a shape, follow this quick guide I made below!

You can also use the DIRECT SELECTION and PEN tools (the two directly to the left of the ones you circled in the toolbar, respectively) to create precise paths using bezier curve functionss to match a particular image shape outline. Typically, in the paragraph pallet, you dont want to JUSTIFY ALL...Normally JUSTIFY LAST LEFT is sufficient...JUSTIFY all is useful if you have another shape to continue text on, and you want the text in the first shape to continue to the edges of the shape, or also in your diagram above as well.

Keep in mind also, this feature is currently only available in Photoshop CS and above...I cannot attest to any particualr version of PSP...Illustrator has been able to perform this function as far back as I can remember.

Very good tip guys, going to sticky this one.

Might also note if you want the text to follow the shape like a circle on the edge of a dvd for the copyright info just draw the circle or shape then instead of putting the text cursor inside the shape put it on the line of the shape you'll see the cursor change shape when your over the line and then text will follow the shape you can do it inside or out. Again Photoshop CS or CS2 required.

Great tip, bazzah!
But, is there a way to write text inside the shape, like it is on the original labels? When I move the cursor it only alows typing straight text inside the shape or curved text outside.

Type your text on the outside, then grab your Hollow Arrow tool (Keyboard Shortcut: A). Click-Hold-Drag the text to the inside of the circle.

It takes a little practice and fine touch and clicking in the right spot, but thats how you can set on the inside of a curve

For some reason I am unable to perform step 2? I can't change the shape of my rectangle box, using Edit-->Transform Path. I am using CS if that helps?
