What a funny movie -- what did it for me is how he just sang and carelessly slit their throats. Good stuff. at firs, when I figured it was a musical, I thought "oh great, they'll be singing through the whole damned movie." But I got to like the funny nature of it, and Borat being in it was a plus.

I've seen this movie in theater recently. I was aware that the movie is musical, but i said i'll give it a chance since i like Depp and Burton. At first i was very bored. if i weren't in theater i would probably stopped watching it after first twenty minutes. After plot thickens it gets more and more exciting. So my overall impression is good. It is very watchable movie. It surprised me that i liked the movie since I'm not into this kind of movies.

personally not my cup of tea but as mentioned above i thought it was really funny the way he was singing and then slashed someones throat without hesitation, very amusing.

I went into this movie open-minded and must admit I very much enjoyed it.

Visually it's very lush, lavish and stylish and the juxtapostion of song with grizzly violence sure makes the film strangely disturbing yet amusing at the same time.

As long as you're expecting a musical, albeit one with a twist, then you won't be disappointed.

As usual, Johnny Depp delivered a great performance and a believable character. What else to expect from legendary "Jack Sparrow"?
Oh...and he can sing! Really well, anyway! Although, I thought the movie would benefit from a little more "gore", it was surprisingly good!
A must-see for all Burton-Depp fans over there!
