The way things are going, it looks like the Wolverine spinoff will be done before X3. Mainly because of the fact that there is no director attached to X3 after being thought that Joss Whedon would be directing

I can honestly live without a Gambit movie - There are so many story arcs that seem to be independent of of teh DarkPhoenix line that the Current X genre is towing, that would be more better suited to an independent offshoot film...

examples:
The Cable story arc - imagine Greymalkin for real (awesome)
Days of Future Past
Acopalypse/Archangel
X-Tinction Agenda *
X-Cutioner's Song *
Fatal Attractions (Magneto's return after his supposed death in the explosion of Avalon I, his Asteroid base)

*would probably entail too many films to do properly

Gambit and his merry band of Louisianna cuth-throats??? sorry, I'll pass

Now Deadpool on the other hand....

I actually have a few of the Cable comics packed away. I believe it was the Executioners Song series or something like that, I can't remember.

this will be interesting because hugh jackman is signed on to do 2 more van helsing movies because that was the franchise he was trying to headline, however it remains to be seen if in fact he will take the wolverine role as his franchise. I think he'd be a fool not to because van helsing really can't go too much further especially since the first didn't make as much profit as the producers/studios wanted.
