Thanks for the support guys but I really think the issue is closed. Dag said he would reinstate me at the start of the new year, but I really am not interested. I'd prefer that my covers just not be hosted there anymore but I don't really care that they are, I just thought it was so incredibly hypocritical of him that I had to mention it.

Dagon doesn't need to admit anything or do anything. All I ask is that he reconsider his policy of not removing covers at an artist's request. If you truly are so supportive of an artist's right to their work then you should respect their wishes even when you feel they have broken the rules of your site.

As for me using the lightsaber image on my spine, that is just ridiculous IMO. The poster art screams to be used for that and I'm pretty sure I've seen it used on another region's retail VHS box in that same way. Some ideas just make sense, and are so generic that everyone is going to think of it regardless of who used it first. As soon as I saw that poster, years ago, I knew I'd use it on the spine of a Star Wars box set someday.

Witchy, I'm not trying to turn anyone against *********. If at anytime I seemed to be bitching it was not because I wanted my account reinstated, as I stated I have no intention of visiting the site again now. I did not start this forum topic, an administrator of ********* did. I have since done nothing more than respond to accusations and relay that one message given to me by dagon.

@dagon: Yup I'm familiar with the terms of service and I read them before signing up on your site. Like I said, I just wish you would reconsider them. Had I known that I could be banned for something so ridiculous (my opinion) I never would have joined.

I kind of think tempers may have flared here outside reasonable limits.

1. The unwritten law is that if you use ANY bits of someone else's handmade cover, you ask their permission. Cavemanlawyer may not have been wholly considerate in this respect.

2. Dagon may have been a bit rough-handed in pointing this out.

Maybe, you know, just drop the whole issue?

True that PP. I got into a fight with someone 6 months ago because I used the front of a cover that he SCANNED on one of my covers. His bitchin' was that he did some clean up on the scan. My comment was that he created nothing, it was the studio that created the artwork all he did was just clean up where his scanner sucked. He's probably still pissed to this day, for no appartent reason. Every cover creator just uses what the studios have all rights to, to make their covers unless they draw it themselves or take the pictures themselves.

I think all has been said out in the open that can or needs to be said. If you guys want to continue your dialogue, I think you will get a LOT more accomplished if you do it in private, away from the spotlight.
