How has this become all the rave?

What is up with everyone starting to make prolific use of the following logo?

This has got to be one of the ugliest things, next to the retail Paramount Template, that seems to be showing up on a lot of work lately. Apparently I'm fairly alone in thinking so, but I cant possibly be alone in thinking that its ugly as hell - I remove it from anything I get from any site whenever possible and sometimes its easy, sometimes its not but I try my best

It ranks right up there with critics quotes and UPC boxes - useless element that just looks awful no matter what is done to it to make it match whatever anyone is dropping it on - hell, even the old "Trianled CP" is better looking than this thing - it was at least stylish and looked like a logo, and "disappeared" in with the rest of the standard logos used - the above is just nasty everytime I see it

Interesting thoughts, but for the "retail look lovers" I think this is one of "decorative" aspect that wouldn't disturb the original idea of custom covers.
Sorry but I just hate when my friends thought that I own bootleged DVDs when I changed the cover without "standard" logos...just my opinion

Honestly, I'd rather have a barcode than the red black and grey cp logo. Dropping the red might help. It just seems to jump out and scream: "Look at me! I'm ugly and I'm here to stay!"

I agree this logo is ugly - im also glad region 1 covers dont do what region 2 covers do: adding their garish rating codes in every place they can find. We get it...we can see the rating...we're not blind.

It was obviously designed by the same people that design all of the studios DVD covers. They both have the same element of shit to them
