I see under my username (2 above) that I am a PREMIUM member?!?! When I originally subscribed I signed up for a "Credit Subscription (yearly)" - how did this get changed anyway????

Designer?

Like many others, I've only ever earned credits through my uploads. However, I am aware I've not upped anything in some time, although I do have a list of custom covers to complete, and I will be doing them once I have the time. What's truly insane is that people would complain about such a tiny cost; however as long as I can continue collecting - and using - credits as a designer I am happy to support the community by my uploads. I don't download much, nor do I intend to. But if I can't do this, then I'd be leaving entirely.

It may be a few weeks before I'm ready to upload some more covers... it may be a few months. But they're all my custom work... oh and I don't know how I got "-1 credit" - I did right click on two covers to download... but I only downloaded one (using my one credit), I'd appreciate it if that could be fixed (it is pretty funny though, and shows another flaw in the system if merely right-clicking a cover and then not downloading cost a credit)!

if there is additional revenue needed, i'd prefer it to be added to the cost of credits rather than an additional annual charge - which would likely be much easier to program too!

i'm not bothered about the cost - $3 is not much even in these times, but I bet it wouldn't stay at $3 for long... i'm not convinced anyone at the top is doing the maths on this, as didn't jayhawk say that if people knew the real cost of credits, no-one would pay... that being the case, it must be more than the $3 he's considering asking from everyone (or some members at least)...

R1DB is not my primary covers site, it's probably 4th in the list of sites i'll try for a cover (there are some after R1DB !) - as a non-American (hence not R1) who doesn't download movie covers, i'm primarily here for tv covers and art (for my own cover designs).

so i'm not a regular visitor to R1DB which is one reason why i'm not keen on the idea of an annual charge - plus none of the other sites I use have an annual charge.. in any event, i've been told by jawhawk that i'd qualify as a designer, so this wouldn't affect me in the immediate future anyway...

just my $3 worth...

We're still working out the kinks with the new script--give us a bit longer.

Here's what we've done so far:

1. move all existing credits to a new table (tableA)
2. make a new table for subscriptions (tableB)
3. when you download a cover, it will use TableA if 0 go to tableB (if valid subscription exists) use credits, else, show no credits available message.

Currently all credits are available on TableA - so, everything should be fine once the kinks are worked out.

I'll change the way its worded once we're done. checking is where subscription credits will be, savings is where paid credits and earned credits will be.

checking will require an active subscription to use

savings may be used at any time.
