I voted for 0/.03 as well. I really appreciate the hard work put into these covers and know the amount of time it can take as I've 2 online at the moment.

As to the resources suggestion, having it free might entice some people to download just for the heck of it even if they have an intention of creating a cover or not. That could result in more bandwith taken up. Let's say we put the resources at .10 per download. Download 10 images to 1 credit. If for example there was a stills gallery in place, you could download 10 pics to make a cover that could earn back what you spent to make it. Does that make sense?

I was thinking about that as well. I wouldn't/don't d/l resources here at 1 credit a piece. I'll find everything elsewhere. But if it were a partial, I might check here for material.

i agree with corvin above....a 1 credit charge for poster art is a bit much when a complete cover is the same. i don't know about .1, though...that's a bit low. why not set it at .25 credits so or 1 credit, you can get 4 pieces of art.

like corvin said, he really does not download assets from this site, because he is able to find things elsewhere. not everyone is, so let's' give those people a break in their cost to get assests.

OT...corvin...who knew andre agassi could sound so deep!

I guess my opinion probably doesnt count for much since ive only managed a few pitiful creations, but i'm going to toss my .02 in from the perspective of someone who is new to learning how to create covers.

Some of the covers on here are absolutely amazing. They make me hope to one day be able to create something half as good. And someone who makes an awesome cover that 40 people DL should be rewarded somehow.

But for those of us who are design fledglings its a tough area to break into. By the time I have finished a cover there have been 20 better ones uploaded long before. So it leaves me with the hope that maybe 1 or 2 people might DL mine at some point. So under the proposed system I wouldnt be able to ever earn even one whole credit. I suspect at the rate Im learning to use this behemoth of a program called PS and all the tricks that go along with cover making that I'm at least a year away from uploading something that might get 10 DLs.

That would leave me with buying credits (which I do regularly and have no problem doing since I cant contribute alot in otherways). But for myself and those like me it would leave us without the minor reward of strugling through to finish up something we know wont get alot of DLs, other than personal satisfaction of course.

I dont expect that to change your mind of course, but maybe something to consider as you set the new system up?

Thanks

Darko...i think that your opening statement about your 2cents not being counted as much is incorrect. i think that more than ever now, this site, is becoming more responsive to user suggestions that most others, so your opinion is valued...now let me try to change it

there is no doubt that some people will not get as many credits as they did in the past, because to earn the same 2 credits that you did in the past for an upload, your custom must now be downloaded 7 times, but, here is the key....anytime your custom is downloaded 8 or more times, you will make out well. Now, you've pointed out what if it never gets downloaded that much....that is an unfortunate side effect, but you stated you are still learning photoshop...we all are to some extent...so as you learn your skills will get better. by utilizing the wip area (which since posts add to your credit total) your skills and covers will get better and reach higher download numbers.

Oh, I know in the long run I'll be ok. And like I said, if the rate to buy credits stays as reasonable as its been I have no problem doing that untill I can contribute more in the way of nice covers.

I'm more thinking about other people I guess. I like being a part of this site and want to see it keep growing with new designers. I hate for someone who maybe cant buy credits get frustrated and leave because their initial attempts at designing arent resulting in any reward at all.
