I watched Planet of the Apes (Tim Burton's) last night. Not a classic like the original but what a doozy of an ending. Name movies you think might need a sequel.

Not necessarily for the same reason as you gave above - but there are some that resolve themselves pretty well how they ended, I just want MORE - I want to know farther into the consequences or in the depths of teh main story of the outcomes we were left with on the following:

Contact - needed to be more like the book from teh launch sequence on
2010 - a solar system within a solar system - now what? dont stop there
Pi - love the movie, hated the ending - wanted to hear more about the MATH, not the guy

ya know, that is a veryt hard question to answer because i think i can name movies that shouldn't have/ever had a sequel more easily.

first and foremost, they need to make Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money!

after that, I guess a sequel for

Jaws (with no one who made jaws 3 or 4 involved in the process)
Ghostbusters
Godzilla (i mean a US version of Godzilla that repairs all of the errors made in the Matthew Broderick 1998 version....or maybe not because the Toho films are good enough)
Beverly Hills Cop 4 (but rosewood should be shot in the first 2 min of the film...which prompts axel to act. i hate judge reinhold)
Beetle Juice 2
True Lies 2 (only if the governator will be in it)
Independence Day 2.

after that, I guess a sequel for

Beetle Juice 2 would be brilliant. Reviving the careers of many actors that have fallen off the planet (i.e. Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder)

I have to nominate Super Troopers. The characters were too good for only one movie. Also, call me crazy, but I'd like to see Roger Rabbit make a comeback.
