[Cocomango]

Two people i know have made a feature film. 1st guy a relative of a friend co-wrote and featured in Pheonix Nights (a comedy TV series from the UK), and decided to make/star in a movie called "Going off big time". I thought it was gritty and absolutly fantastic and was easy to reap the praise it deserved....It flopped, down to comercial exposure.
The next guy, a friend from work made a 90 min film called "the Movie Makers" based around a wrighting a home made low budget movie to show to a local audience. He showed how i made to SFX throughout the film documentaries as part of the film and was truly eye opening as to how much thought had gone into his film. Everyone thought it was good that saw it. Two UK distrubuting companys have upto now rejected it, hes sort of given up on it although now he's playing it down about taking it to the Cannes film festival. Its about a top secret military shrinking machine that that gets stolen, and falls into the wrong hands. Although its technically weak as story its got something about it that makes you think. But ultimatly, its not worth paying for. I feel like he should work on something else yet all his hopes are on this one. I feel like should i prepare him for the fall? If Spielberg had given up after the 1st film.........

what was his first...Jaws? I had no use for it.
Aside from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Schindler's List and maybe one or two others out of the multitudes hes done, Spielberg could have never shot a single movie and I wouldnt have cared - never really cared much for his body of work
