I use mainly thinpaks now as my collection is getting bigger everyday. I also use a "generic" custom for my lesser known or less popular movies. I put them in 10 or 15 disc cases with a cover something like this.

I would like to know is there software that will shrink normal covers to fit the new template without distorting them?

I have converted my entire DVD collection to thinpacks and have not looked back since. I had just gotten to a point where I had no more room for another shelf to put any additional DVDs I bought, and give that my collection was quite large, and is still growing (at an alarming pace, some whould say), I just went for it. The only problem is that you have to cut up your original covers, so the resale value of your DVD collection is greatly reduced, but as I never really thought about selling any of my DVDs, I has not been a problem for me.

Most spines are still quite readable as the text does not use up the entire spine anyway in most cases, but where it does, I have taken to scanning the original cover and printing it using a software called UndercoverXP that allows reducing the size of the spine to thinpack size. That way, I can make any spine look nice in thinpacks.

The only trouble is that since I switched to thinpacks, I have almost used up the space that I gained by switching, so now I am at the same place I was a couple of years back. Oh well...

Still using normal size. I prob should convert to thin though because i have about 700 now and have little space left I put two extra shelves on my bookshelf which is now full and have started stacking them on the side.
