How many people have converted to thin pack

Just wondering how many people have converted to thin pack and how they like it. Is it not hard to read the spine? I have been thinking about it for space reasons.

I have thought about it, but haven't for the very reason you mention about not being able to read the spines.

NO! I like the standards better for display! also space not an issue if you've got a good storage system (i can store 200 per unit / 1.2m x1m / stackable-modular)

I hate thinpaks with a passion! I just bought the karate kid collection and they are thinpak... YUCK I cant wait till this one dude finishes his multi disc sized case so I can replace the three thinpaks with 1 case. When I do im gona stomp on the thinpaks, maybe melt them even... lol

Agreed: I would be afraid it would be too hard to read the spine. I want to be able to read the spines from a few feet away. I'm about to break 600 soon, so we'll see if my mind changes as I near 1000.

Well all I have to say , to each their own - personally Ill let this picture speak 1,001 words....

and thats only over 60 or so DVDs - imagine it across the 600-700+ that alot of you claim to have

my space is terrily limited for movies - so everything that can possibly go into a slimmer more consolidated case, does so 3 LOTR TE's now ina NP6, FROM the EARTH To the MOON, NP4 , there are no fatty alpha cases for any of my TV series, all NP slims, if its a 2 disc job, then i keep it in a double capacity standard single or in a thinpak double - I have over 100 standard single cases that now sit in a box - empty - replaced by one slimmer case or another - I have reclaimed at least 1/3 of my shelf space due to thinpaks

I have to get a littel closer to read the spines, but hey - i got not problems sitting and staring at my covers anyways

think about it - do you really need a 1/2" thick case to hold a 2mm thin disc? and reading teh spines is not an issue - why do you nee dto be a few feet away when you need to be within arms reach to take it off the shelf?

and Dae, dont melt them, dont destroy them, dont toss em out a window - if you hate hem that much ILL take them - im always looking for Thins

I'm also in the middle of converting to thinpaks due to limited space. I use single, double, NP4 or NP6. The space savings is great. Some of my collections are not being converted since I don't think they would look good in thinpaks (nausicaa's Hitchcock and Jupiter's SW for example), but everything else will be eventually. I've found that I have had the spine design sometimes influence which cover I use, since not all would look good on a thinpak.
