| Lots of assumptions being made here but, In all honesty I can see and understand the reasoning for NO labels.
Now, here is the simple reasoning why, If I were going to vote I would vote YES.
Firstly, I have never burned a DVD. I cannot see the point! so, that part of the interest is irrelevant to me. However, going back a few years I can remember certain names who started this hobby by first beginning with LABEL ART, myself included. It was the simplest way of getting involved with and learning PS software and at the same time actually being able to produce and upload something that could be claimed as yours. But, the main reason.....it was a way of becoming involved in a community of like-minded people.
This hobby should not be an elitist one but, an enjoyable experience for everyone who loves producing artistic designs that offer an alternative to whatever retails whether, they produce labels or covers.
So, what I am saying is this is............... Producing, labels for some members is their way to gently introduce themselves into the community. And, which of you guys wants to put an end to that?!
I do agree that scanned labels are pointless and would vote NO to those.
Heres, an interesting one, I wonder how many members of alternative cover sites stand-up up with their Adobe licenses. When people talk about "burning" media etc.......its a bit contradictory to "pull em apart" over it when, they themselves are using "dodgy" Adobe software. I am not talking about anyone in particular and, certainly no one on this site.........just, my thoughts.
I don't see many people I know on the Adobe forums.......
I did vote...........hehehehehe

| Have voted no, even tho it seems the 'yays' have it.
I've never once printed off or used a disc label. I'm too much of a cheapskate when it comes to printing off labels as well as the covers.
Yes, of course I have pirated copies of movies i've downloaded on DVD & i'm pretty sure nearly everyone here does!
I don't sell them tho, so why would I need a label?
I write on the disc what it is, slap it into a case & the case has a printed cover on it which then goes onto a shelf for later viewing

| I'm going to go ahead and close it.
Seems the yes' will win even with more time.
We'll begin taking them on a trial basis--if the mods have issues with them or the approval process is too big a pain in the ass, we'll drop them.
PC Game section added.
In the long run, it's just a matter of adding a section so I don't see the big deal with carrying anything that there is enough demand for or enough request for. Hopefully this will eliminate the need for new sections for some time |
