I think it should be custom labels only cuz who would want a scanned label that just has the title on it. Slater doesn't want it because hes afraid he will have to QA them

this has been a hot topic for a while, and we have voted and discussed it in the mods section, over and over again, and my vote or opinion was NO because I don't think the site needs them, and there are many reasons why I think that

HOWEVER "I" suggested posting a poll, and going to the masses to decide on the outcome...

that way it would not just be a " no

by the way, the mods section was:

(well all the mods who voted anyways)

honestly, I think it cheapens a sites status, it makes us seem more like a site for bootleggers, and we have never had labels before, and i can understand the "traffic" that labels will bring, but it will also bring attention to the site , and make the site seem more bootlegger friendly (in my opinion) **to the Studios

plus we all remember that DVDCOVERART had to close down because of a lawsuit from Disney, or lucasfilm or whomever,

and i'm sure the movie studios know of our existence

however, with us being only a "replacement" cover site, and an alternative for some of the crappy studio "cut and paste" jobs on covers...

the studios don't see us as a threat because , take me for example, i own over 2,500 dvd's (including 7 disc tv show box sets) and "me" personally I do not own even "1" copied dvd...

and the whole reason i EVER did a search for "dvd covers" was because way back in like 2002-2003 when the back to the future dvd boxset came out, i only owned a small amount of dvd's and had them in one of those metal dvd holder shelves (the ones that only hold single width cases)

and i wanted my back to the future dvd's in single cases

so after finding dvdcoverart, i found that not only did they have replacement for my BTTF set in single width, BUT they also had many replacements for my "snapper cases" and better custom covers for many of my other movies...

so that's why i became interested in this hobby

then i started to collect TV Series on DVD and HATED the many varying sizes that season sets came in, so again i went to dvd coversites to get single width covers to put my 4 disc, 5 disc and 6 disc season sets in...

thats why i'm for "replacement covers "Personally"

and i think replacement "labels" for discs , seem more like something a person who burns a movie or show or whatever would need, for their blank discs, and I don't know how much attention having such things on the site would make the studios notice...


**which brings me to another topic, that many sites USED to enforce, most dvd coversites used to enforce the "it has to be out of theatres and on dvd already" (or 1 week before its dvd release,) for covers to be posted on the site...

but many sites dropped that when crappy cover sites(we know the ones LOL) had covers months before the movie was even in theatres!!

now everybody can do what they want in the privacy of their own homes, (burn movies, watch porn, make porn LOL etc)

but me myself, i come for the covers and see labels as a "lesser form" of dvd related material, which honestly seem to have only "1" purpose...

now I am not a prude by any means (as i own many backed-up playstation games) but when it comes to movies i only own the real thing...

and lets be honest, we have all seen bootlegged movies is shops or flea markets or even on the street, But 9 time out of 10 they don't come with a custom cover, just a "custom or scanned label attached to them...

thats my reasoning, and personal opinion on this matter, you can agree with me, be totally against me, or ignore me...
