I just can't figure out how to send an artist a comment letting them know how much I appreciate their fine work.

right beside your name on the top of the screen is a function called user cp click in there and it will bring you to a screen that has a section called private messages

click there under new message and type the artists name that you want to send a comment to and you can do that

OR click in the artists name below their cover and it will bring you to their bio, and there is an option there that says "send user a pm"

you can send your compliments there
